Abstract:
 
Robert will present a series of film clips including WW I newsreel footage, Roscoe Arbuckle's Liberty Loan film, "Scraps of Paper," and several examples of Slapstick Comics Go to War. Robert will also show some "Rare Keaton On Video."

Bio
 

Robert Arkus is a film historian and archivist. He has presented rare film footage at past Buster Keaton Celebrations here in Iola, KS, at past Damfino’s (The International Buster Keaton Society) conventions in Muskegon, MI and at the 75th anniversary of The General in Cottage Grove, OR.  Robert has also contributed his talents to film retrospectives at both The Museum of Modern Art and Lincoln Center in NYC, the BFI in London and SLAPSTICON in Arlington, VA. He acted as both Production and Research Consultant for several of Laughsmith Entertainment’s DVD box sets, including The Forgotten Films of Roscoe ‘Fatty’ Arbuckle and Industrial Strength Keaton. He worked on the production of New Wave Media’s Popeye DVD box sets and the Harry Langdon Lost and Found DVD box set from All Day Entertainment, along with their recently released Becoming Charley Chase. Robert is also on the board of directors of Silent Cinema Presentations in New York City. Robert resides in New York City with his wife Jeni Rymer.
